Introduction

JustPrice is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the JustPrice mobile application and related services.

By using JustPrice, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Sensitive Data

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial account credentials, government ID numbers, biometric data, or health information. The only account access we request is read-only access to your Gmail for the sole purpose of identifying purchase-related emails.

Information We Collect

When you use JustPrice, we collect the following information:

• Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We never see or store your Google password.
• Email data: With your explicit permission, we access your Gmail account using read-only access to scan for specific types of emails related to your online purchases. We scan for:
  • Order confirmation emails — to identify and import your purchases
  • Shipping notification emails — to track delivery status of your orders
  • Delivery confirmation emails — to confirm when items have arrived
  • Return confirmation emails — to track returned items and refunds
• Purchase data: Item names, prices, order numbers, order dates, store names, sizes, colors, images, and product URLs extracted from your emails.
• Device information: Push notification tokens and basic device identifiers for delivering notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Import and track your online purchases
• Monitor prices for items you've purchased
• Alert you when prices drop within your return or price-adjustment window
• Track return deadlines and price-adjustment windows based on store policies
• Display your savings and purchase history on your dashboard
• Send you push notifications about price drops and approaching deadlines

Gmail Access & Email Processing

All email processing is fully automated. No human ever reads your emails. Our automated systems scan for order-related emails only and extract purchase information such as item names, prices, and order details. Emails that do not match order-related patterns are ignored and never stored.

You can disconnect your Gmail at any time from within the app or by revoking access in your Google Account settings. Once disconnected, JustPrice will no longer read any of your emails.

We do not use Gmail data to serve advertisements of any kind.

While our automated systems are designed to identify and extract only purchase-related information, parsers may occasionally extract data from emails that match purchase-related patterns but are not purchase confirmations. Any such data that is not purchase-related is not intentionally collected and will be deleted upon discovery. You can report any incorrectly imported data by contacting us at [email protected].

Data Storage

Your purchase data and account information are stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption and security practices. Data is stored in Firebase Firestore and is associated with your unique user account.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 30 days after a deletion request is processed.

Payments

JustPrice offers paid subscription features. All payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or process payment card information. Please refer to Apple's and Google's privacy policies for information on how they handle payment data. We receive only confirmation of subscription status, tier, and expiration date.

Analytics

We may use anonymized analytics to understand how users interact with the app and improve our service. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

Communications

We may contact you with product updates, new features, price drop alerts, and other service-related communications via push notifications and email.

Push notifications: You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app settings.

Email communications: You can opt out of email communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at [email protected].

Note that certain service-related communications such as account security alerts and deletion confirmations may not be subject to opt-out.

Data Sharing

Your purchase information, email data, and personal details are never provided to advertisers, data brokers, or any external parties. The only third-party service that processes your data is Google Firebase, which serves as our secure data storage provider.

We use trusted third party services for data storage and price monitoring functionality. These services are bound by their own privacy policies and are not permitted to use your data for any purpose other than providing services to JustPrice.

Google API Services User Data Policy

JustPrice's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication through Firebase Authentication
• Access controls limiting data access to authorized systems only
• Regular review of our data collection, storage, and processing practices

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: View the purchase data we have stored for your account through the app.
• Request data deletion: You can delete your account and all personally identifiable information directly within the JustPrice app through Settings → Delete Account. You may also contact us at [email protected] to request deletion. We will process all deletion requests within 30 days. Please note that anonymized, non-identifiable data such as historical price records may be retained to improve our service, but cannot be traced back to you in any way.
• Revoke Gmail access: You can revoke JustPrice's access to your Gmail at any time through your Google Account permissions.
• Opt out of notifications: Disable push notifications through the app settings or your device settings at any time.

State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional privacy rights including the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to all verified requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

JustPrice is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
